  • Beginner's Yoga

This is a great class for those who want to get a feel for everything yoga.  Our instructors will take more time teaching how we move vs just teaching movement.  This is a great place to really get familiar as to what happens in a yoga class without trying to keep up with constant movement.  Each pose or part of a sequence will be given more time so you can really get into your body and feel all the feels. We'll dive deep into several poses each week, breaking them down to the foundation so we can properly access them safely and deeply to the best of our ability.

  • Power Flow Yoga

Power flow is a practice of one breath per pose flow, though some instructors will allow for more time in each pose before transitioning. With this style instructors will offer creative sequences that challenge you to be open to the flow of changes within the practice each class.

Each practice you will climb the yoga mountain with building up heat and strength and then move into a cool down. With warmed muscles this cool down will provide deeper stretch and flexibility.

  • Slow Flow Yoga

Slow flow is a slower, softer and less complex practice than Power Flow. In the same way Power flow practices one breath per pose flow, though some instructors will allow for more time in each pose before transitioning, in a Gentle Flow class instructors will guide you in the same way with a lighter pace.

  • Yin Yoga

In the on-the-go world we live in it is our norm to never slow down, when we desperately need time to unwind. Yin is just that, this style beckons us to relax, breath, surrender and find deep stretch. It is a time to go inward and feel our way back into our bodies as each pose is held for roughly 3-5 minutes we have time to breath through those rising discomforts because my friends...the only way out is through. Within these longer holds we are working within our connective tissues as these dense fibers need time and stillness and we also stretch our muscles as we teach them to relax...relax...relax.

  • Ashtanga Yoga

In most studios the first (primary) series of six is practiced and we offer a short form of the full primary series. Short form is where a handful of poses are taken out of the practice to allow for a 75 minute class. This style is set in its order of poses, which provides structure and focus for those of us that need it. Starting with Sun Salutations, standing, seated, inverted and back-bending poses, this practice provides challenge in the physical postures. Each pose is held for 5 breaths and many of the advanced poses and transitions within this series can be quite challenging as you build up to them.

  • Yoga Nidra

"Yogic Sleep" offers an experience that allows you to rest into guided imagery, surrender and deep relaxation.  This practice literally works on an neurological level and one session feels like you had 4 hours of rest.  It is sometimes challenging to sit in stillness for meditation and calm the mind, these styles offer an opportunity to receive the benefits of meditation while lying down in savasana.  This is a time to recharge in all ways.

  • Restorative Yoga

This class is a wonderful combination of completely supported poses and guided imagery.  There is no work to be done here, but rather slip into a deep state of relaxation and repair.  Each Restorative pose is held for roughly 10 minutes and the end of class will lead you right into a Yoga Nidra experience.

Stephanie's first introduction to Yoga was around the age of 17 while working at a wellness center in Michigan in 1997ish.  During this time she recognized the many benefits of this practice.  At 19 she traveled to Kripalu for her 200 hour certification and exited the program early due to ill family.  This always being in the back of her head while she journeyed through life, in 2011 she decided to journey to Bali, Indonesia where she received her 200 hour RYT from The School of Sacred Arts.  With her experience in tow she started offering in the small town of Texas, she lived in at the time, and a year and a half later she opened up Lotus here in Ogden.  In between her arrival in Ogden and opening Lotus she studied Trance Dance in 2012 with Shiva Rae in Venice Beach.  In 2016 she spent a month in the jungle of Costa Rica receiving her 300 hour RYT with Tantric Alchemy Institute.  Her main goal as an instructor is to give a heart warming experience for all who arrive on the mat with her.  She knows the true vehicle into the body is the breath and focuses often on Pranayama (breathwork) while offering many cues for not only getting into the physical body, but the energetic as well.  She creates a supportive environment for both new and experienced students....all are welcome!
